Our Training Courses:

AirCare's intensive one-day InFlight Emergency Medical training provides the crewmember with what they need to know to properly assess, treat, and care for ill or injured crew and passengers until higher levels of ground-based assistance is available. The training program follows best medical practices, nationally accepted training programs, and industry standards for the care of in-flight medical problems, including O.S.H.A. bloodborne pathogen requirements, CPR and the use of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs). The program includes lecture, demonstration and ample hands-on emergency medical practice in the corporate aircraft environment.

Hands-on emergency medical procedures are practiced either in the client's aircraft or one of the FACTS® full-size, full motion, cockpit and cabin emergency procedures simulator.

Training meets all applicable crewmember training requirements under CFR Parts 91, 125, 135, JAR Ops 1, and CARs. AirCare certificates of training are issued for one year.

Course curriculae includes:
  • Bloodborne Pathogens - Educates and trains crewmembers in proven methods to reduce the risk of occupational exposure to potentially infectious materials which could result in transmission of bloodborne pathogens. Training exceeds Federal requirements per O.S.H.A. Part 1910.1030.

  • Inflight Medical Emergencies - Altitude physiology considerations and common aviation injury and illnesses are emphasized. Inflight first aid procedures, crew and passenger coordination, patient assessment, ALS vs. BLS, and emergency commands are included.

  • CPR and FBAO Procedures - Instruction is specific to the aviation environment and leads into interaction with defibrillation. Introduction and hands-on practice with Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction procedures.

  • Common Inflight Medical Problems - Review of statistically common illness and injuries in the aviation environment. Training addresses basic illness/ injury signs and symptoms, recognition and treatment information, patient assessment and triage practices.

  • Defibrillator Training - Introduction, explanation and review of guidelines and standards for defibrillator use by AirCare trained crewmembers. Training includes review of frequently asked questions and protocols, indications for use, hands-on skills, maintenance, familiarization and hands-on practice in a variety of aviation oriented scenarios in real-time situations.

  • Exam - Successful completion of a comprehensive practical exam provides certification in CPR, Defibrillator, and Bloodborne Pathogens, meeting all applicable requirements.
