Defibrillator Products Cardiac defibrillation is no longer optional... Defibrillators in aircraft are now an industry standard. More people die from sudden cardiac arrest each year than breast cancer, prostate cancer, AIDS, hand guns, house fires and traffic accidents combined. The majority of these people had no warning, as they showed no prior symptoms of heart disease. Fewer than 5% survive a cardiac event UNLESS a life-saving shock from a defibrillator is delivered within 5 minutes. Today's AEDs are small, light weight and extremely easy to use. The AED makes all the decisions and is designed to ONLY shock if needed. Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) are ONLY available with medical control and physician's prescription.
